Ayanna is Senior Director and Site Head for Comprehensive Cell Solutions labs in New York. She has over 20 years of experience in research, building lab spaces and lab management, and product development. Ayanna has hands-on experience in designing and implementing electrophysiology, cell biology and human psychophysiology studies. She is also the Senior Program Director of the New York Blood Center’s National Cord Blood Program.
Her broad knowledge in various biological fields showcases a diverse skillset and ability to adapt to various disease models and work environments. She is a subject matter expert for umbilical cord blood and perinatal tissue banking, from procedural applications to quality assurance. In her current role, she oversees the technical operations teams in New York, engages with current and potential clients and partners, is the key point person for regulatory bodies, and works closely with the leadership team, quality assurance, marketing, finance, and procurement.
Ayanna holds a Doctoral degree in Neuroscience from Brandeis University. She has a strong interest in stem cell research for sickle cell anemia and immune disorders and educating the public about blood donation and its impact on the community.
