Eric Gehrie, MD

Vice President and Medical Director, Enterprise Fellowship and Education Deputy Chief Medical Officer

Eric Gehrie, MD, serves as Vice President and Medical Director, Enterprise Fellowship and Education Deputy Chief Medical Officer, at Comprehensive Cell Solutions. He is a board-certified clinical pathologist with subspecialty board certification in transfusion medicine.

Prior to joining New York Blood Center Enterprises, he was on the faculty at Yale University School of Medicine as well as Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he served as the medical director of the blood bank. In addition, Dr. Gehrie was previously an executive physician director at the American Red Cross, where he focused on therapeutic apheresis, cellular collections, and cellular therapy laboratory work. 

Dr. Gehrie is an editor of the 6th (current) edition of Rossi’s Principles of Transfusion Medicine and an active member of the editorial board for the medical journal Transfusion. He is focused on working across disciplines to improve the efficiency of cellular therapy collection and manufacturing activities and finding novel ways to enhance patient access to advanced cellular therapy treatments.
