Mr. Baez is the Senior Director of GMP Cell & Gene Manufacturing and the Louisville Site Head, with over 20 years of experience in the GMP cell therapy manufacturing field. He has played a pivotal role in overseeing multiple cell-based therapeutic products, including CAR T-cell programs for clinical trials, and has supported the commissioning of numerous GMP cleanroom-based manufacturing facilities for both cell therapy products and viral vectors. Additionally, he has been instrumental in supporting GMP contract manufacturing operations for clinical trial sites in the US and Europe.
Mr. Baez possesses extensive expertise in GMP manufacturing operations, Quality Systems, CMC development, supply chain and logistics, aseptic processing, and cell and gene therapy. He has a proven track record of establishing high-performing manufacturing teams and bringing newly constructed manufacturing facilities online. His experience includes developing systems and procedures to support GMP manufacturing operations.
Throughout his career, Mr. Baez has held positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Lonza, Bellicum Pharmaceuticals, Akouos, Cytovia Therapeutics, and Talaris Therapeutics.
